As a parent, you need to be braver.

Yesterevening when my kid wanted to play cricket but did not know where, i stepped in, apparently with more courage and invisible armory. There is a pretty place on my floor right outside my doorstep and the sport understandably can not be played inside the house. So i asked him what if we played out on the floor space but he denied vehemently. After all, no one would like to be reprimanded by a neighbor for disturbing his evening time. i insisted and we played. For 15 good minutes i guess. One neighbor sure came out but when he saw a kid playing, he said to continue. It was encouraging.

There was, of course, no intention to disturb anyone but if we, the parents, keep following rules and guidelines all the time, how then can we expect our children to be able to break the ceiling glass one day? If parents keep saying Yes and No as the world says, how our children would change the equation? In order to teach them the formidable lessons of  passion and dedication, as parents, we have to bend some rules first. i stepped out with courage thinking - if any neighbor said not to play, we won't continue but let's hear it first! - and it worked. My kid was glowing with happiness.

It's the other matter that my right hand had soon started to ache due to tackling leather ball fiercely.

Why do we need occasions like Mother's Day?

Firstly, Happy Mother's Day to all the moms in this world. Today is a special day for mothers and after wishing my own, I feel great. Mummy did not know today is her day and she was simply surprised when I wished her. She wished me back and then we chatted for a little more while before we hung up.

But before calling her, something else had happened. I was calling her but she was busy somewhere for incessant 20 minutes talking to someone else. Finally I called my father and informed about it's Mother's Day today. He chuckled and wished me. Then he asked,

"Who has made days like Mother's day, Father's day etc.? Do we really need such occasions?"

I laughed. Comments similar to this often flow my way nonetheless I replied to him.

"No. Actually we really don't need such days but if dedicating one day especially to our loved ones, we can shower some extra pounds of love, affection, care and gifts, there is no harm in celebrating them. For the rest of th…

Happy Diwali!!!

Wish you all a very happy, prosperous and full of laughter diwali (I guess I am the first one to wish you all :) ).

It's 12.30 AM and I am awake doing some interesting chit chat with my beloved husband. He is such a great talker and an even better listener (later one goes in my favor of course ;) ). We are exchanging diwali wishes with our parents. I am really happy today as I'd be making a number of really delicious food items (you all are invited too), making two rangolis afterwards and then enjoying the evening with our friends along with firing crackers. I know I know crackers are unfriendly for our environment. Therefore, we all would be doing it in a limit :). My husband is such a great supporter. He loves doing chores with me which makes everything so special and quick of course. I find it sweet. I also enjoy his company pretty much. Yayyy!! We are going to squeeze the maximum joy out of our favorite festival....again.
And yes...as I had promised, I am sharing the two d…

25 ways to save water

My father has asked me to help him out in writing an article on "How to save water? or simply put, "Water Conservation". While working on it, I thought this article is worth sharing on my blog as water conservation has become one of the hottest topic world wide in last few decades. Importance of water now-a-days is well known by everyone. We need water from the first hour of our waking life till the last one. Retaining the water will also help in cutting down on other global crises like global warming and droughts.

I searched profusely and the useful tips I have found are hanging below. Feel free to read them and help our mother planet to attain its water abundance.

Simple things just for reminder. Close tap the taps while brushing or washing vegetables etc.; while filling a bucket with water, make sure you close the tap on time. Do not overfill the bucket; teach children how to save water. Stick stickers to several places (as shown above) that shows how to save water. …
